I know we all say it over and over, and it's become such a cliche phrase, but time absolutely flies. My goodness.

I can't believe that this little man is already a whole year! Even my husband, who usually nods quietly and responds with a series of "mhmm" and "aha" sounds as I oogle on about my sessions, made a comment saying that he recognized this little guy but could have sworn the newborn session was just a couple of weeks ago. NOPE! It's been a year.

But, even though I cringe at the thought of another year passing by in the blink of an eye, it's also so exciting and so much fun to celebrate these ONEderful milestones.

Think about how much your baby changes within that first year - from a squirmy, wormy newborn to a bubbly, drooly baby. Think of everything you've endured over the course of the year: diapers, sleepless nights, building routines, fussy babies and upset tummies. But also: first smiles, first laughs, first roll overs, first sit ups, first steps (maybe)... the first year is full of, well... FIRSTS! And it's so fun to celebrate those firsts along with baby's FIRST BIRTHDAY!

So, we celebrated Luke's Big First Birthday with shades of blue and a ton of grins! We started out a little shy, but the smiles slowly started peaking at the corners of his lips, and eventually started turning into shy giggles, and then ecstatic squeals! Oh, what fun! I LOVE cake smashes. They are always just such a joy to put together, shoot, and edit.

Happy happy happy first birthday, Luke! You rocked it, little man!
