Newborn babies make so many funny and adorable expressions during the Newborn Sessions. I love to capture them and create minimal-styled, black and white portraits that focus on the baby and his/her expressions. 

These are often some of the parents' favourite portraits. They make timeless (and adorable) portrait pieces, and are excellent for galleries walls or a stand-alone large wall art piece. 

Usually, during a Newborn Session, it is normal for baby to wake up and spend some time looking at their new surroundings. This presents the perfect opportunity for these awake photos. 

It doesn't take long to capture a variety of expressions. Sometimes they cry, or sneeze, or look about the room in utter amazement. Sometimes their eyes go crossed... I capture it all. And the results are always beautiful (and worth a good laugh, in some cases!)

Parents love that the personalities of their new babies get to come out during a session. We all love the sleepy, adorable posed photos. But I also love these unposed, minimal-styled and fun portraits! 

Every once in a while, a little "Houdini Baby" will get their arms out and show off those little limbs, too!

These beautiful photos are great and bring a fresh, simple portrait to a newborn gallery. I love the variety that parents get to pick from, and these always bringing out laughs and cries of joy when the parents see them for the first time. :)
