In-Studio Newborn Session for Baby Number Two • Calgary Newborn Session

Goodness, I could have sworn I photographed this session just the other week — but time has clearly been moving faster than I realized. Either way, I’ve been so excited to finally share this adorable newborn session with you all.

This was baby number two for this sweet family, and I had the honour of photographing big sister’s newborn photos as well — which made this session extra special. And honestly? Everyone did amazing. Baby boy was an absolute dream, big sister rocked her role, and the whole session came together beautifully.

There were lots of funny moments during this session, and a few unimpressed expressions too (lol!) But, everything came together beautifully. I absolutely adore this family. We just click. There are always jokes, lots of laughter, and an easy comfort that makes working together such a joy. I truly love photographing this wonderful bunch.

All of my newborn sessions include family, parent, and sibling photos with the session fee. I design my sessions to allow for a wide variety of moments and combinations, so when it comes time to choose your images, you’ll have a beautiful mix to select from — the quiet, the playful, and everything in between.

This little one did spend quite a bit of time awake — which happens sometimes! And honestly? It doesn’t make the photos anything less than adorable (or scrumptious). I love going with the flow and capturing those wide-eyed, bushy-tailed moments as they happen.

Parents usually love it too, and those awake images often end up being favourites when it comes time to choosing photos. Between the sweet expressions and the downright hilarious ones, it just adds so much personality — and makes the session that much more fun.

And of course, those oh-so-cute “mugshot” images I love to capture — especially when baby is wide awake. These are often the hardest photos to choose from, and they make the most amazing storyboards.

What’s a storyboard, you might ask? That might have to be a blog post for another day so I can properly show you just how adorable they are. But trust me when I say they’re one of my most popular products, always met with big smiles, excited squeals, and they truly make one of the sweetest keepsakes you can have.

To this wonderful family — thank you so much for trusting me once again to capture these early days with your growing crew. It truly means the world to be invited back for baby number two, and I’m so grateful to continue documenting these milestones for you.
