Smashing Cake with Babies from Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, Strathmore and Central/Southern Alberta

That first year goes by SO quickly - I can't believe how quickly time has gone by since Alayna's Newborn Session! She has grown into such a happy, bubbly and adorable little girl. I loved every single moment of her cake smash! 

She had the best and biggest grins and would belly laugh so hard she would almost fall over. She had us all howling with laughter - it was definitely a party! 

We kept the same dark and deep colours that were used for her newborn portraits and I absolutely loved it! This cake smash is right on brand for me and I am loving it!

I was happy to capture some family photos before we got to smashing the cake. I love capturing a family photo, especially for return clients, because it's a great way to show just how much baby has changed from newborn to one year - so many changes in such a short time!

As if smashing the cake wasn't adorable enough, Alayna's loved her bubble bath afterwards. She loved splashing around in the tub. It was hard to stop shooting because every time I said, "Okay, okay, we have enough!" She would start laughing and smiling all over again, and it was just too adorable to pass up. 

At Alayna's Newborn Session we had captured a specially requested portrait with her and Dad, and I had an idea to recreate it at the end of the session just to, again, show how much Alayna's has grown over the last 12 months. The pictures turned out adorable (check out her newborn session to see the original image!) and I love how it shows that Alayna has not only grown in physical size but also in personality! 

I absolutely love working with and photographing this family. I can't wait to capture more memories with them. I continually appreciate their loyalty and look forward to seeing their smiling faces every single time. 

Happy Birthday, Alayna! You are growing into a beautiful little butterfly, indeed! <3
