Simply Gorgeous Spring Maternity Session in NW Calgary

After doing a consultation over Zoom with this beautiful couple expecting their first little one, I was happy to be chosen as their photographer. I knew that I would be able to capture beautiful portraits as well as make their experience easy and stress-free for them while they prepared to meet their baby boy.

It was a hot, hot day on the day we had our session scheduled. And, of course, luck would have it that my AC unit at the studio would break down! It made for a pretty toasty time in the studio while this gorgeous first-time-mom had her hair and makeup done. We sipped our icy Starbucks drinks to try and keep comfortable. But once we had Mom all dolled up and ready to go, the evening was starting to cool off just in time for our Golden Hour Maternity Session. 

It was such a pleasant evening! We originally had plans to go to a different location, but the cherry blossoms were in full bloom! They don't last long in our city, and I knew that if there was ever a time to capture the blossoms in their full glory it would be that evening! Luckily, Mom & Dad To-Be trusted me fully, so we adjusted our plans and arrived on location to a breathtaking and gorgeous backdrop. 

The sunset was incredible, and the day's heat had dropped to a comfortable temperature which made the evening very enjoyable. I absolutely loved working with this couple. It's important to me that I get along with my clients, and that trust is a two-way street. They were such a joy to work with and so easy to photograph; it makes me happy when I see couples relaxing into their poses and enjoying the closeness they share while I capture their portraits. 

I am absolutely in love with how this maternity session went and how gorgeous the images turned out. They chose so many of my favourites from their session, and I was so excited to see them again in a few weeks once their little one arrived!
