Maverick's Studio Newborn Session • Newborn Baby Photographer Calgary, Alberta

One of the things I look forward to the most after a maternity session is, of course, meeting the little one once they are born for their newborn session! I am always curious to see the little cutie who was behind that perfect baby bump.

This family's winter maternity session was absolutely gorgeous, and finally their little one arrived. I couldn't wait to meet their baby boy!

When they showed up at my door, Big Sister was absolutely beaming with pride over her new baby brother. She wanted to help out during the session and soak in all the details of what I was doing while working with her new sibling. I let her play with my realistic toy camera and let her be a part of the session. She was absolutely adorable, chatting away while we swooned over baby Maverick. "Oh he is so toot!" She would exclaim.

The sibling photos turned out absolutely beautiful; this wasn't a shock to me because Big Sis was absolutely enthralled with her new role as a big sister, and she proudly snuggled right up to baby Mav. She was so well behaved!

I can't say enough how much I loved working with this beautiful family. They are such a photogenic bunch and so pleasant to work with!

Maverick is a beautiful baby and he did so well during his session. He needed a little bit of coaxing to settle into some poses, but he pulled together a gorgeous gallery that his family absolutely loved! I can't wait to see their big fat album in their hands, absolutely crammed full of the gorgeous photos from their maternity and newborn sessions between it's lovely leather covers.

Future Football Player?

Dad really wanted a photo of his newborn baby boy on a football. I love Mav's squishy lips in this photo. I love when parents bring along props that are in line with their likes and hobbies to make their session unique and custom just for them.

Snuggly Baby Boy

Maverick loved being wrapped up. I was able to get a few different prop setups with him while he happily snoozed away in his little cocoon.

As Sweet As Honey

I love the warm yellow setups with Mav's skin; what an absolutely precious baby boy! I also love his lazy arm hanging out of the bucket, he looked so cute just dreaming away in my wood bucket prop.

Wakey Wakey!

Maverick woke up for a bit of the session, so I seized the opportunity to get some shots of him while he was content. Such cute expressions! It's a bit of an art to get that eye contact but when it happens it's pure magic!

Big Sis's Spotlight

Mom had the vision to have two black and white portraits in their home; one of each child. So Big Sis had her time in the spotlight to have her own 'mugshots' done. She said she wasn't ticklish, but these photos prove that was a fib, haha!

Mad Mugshots

It was Maverick's turn for his 'mugshots'; he wasn't too impressed to have been disrupted from his lunchtime, but I personally find the crying shots to be the most adorable. Their cry-face is as precious to remember as the sleepy ones.

In Cahoots

These two will be close growing up - I can feel it! I love the joy twinkling in Big Sister's eyes. They are just too cute! This pulls at my heart strings big time.

Mother & Son

What a gorgeous woman! I love photographing her, especially when she's got a rolly polly baby boy in her arms! She spoke so softly to him that it would bring a heaviness to my own eyelids.. she is a beautiful person inside and out.

Proud Dad

No one knew if Maverick would be a boy or girl until he arrived, and I'm sure Dad was super excited to learn that he now had a son! They have their boy and their girl - so perfect! I loved capturing little Mav in his Daddy's hands. How precious!

Three Becomes Four

I absolutely adore this family. They were so wonderful to work with; I love their family photos. Mom & Dad are so proud of their beautiful babies, and you can just see the joy in all of their eyes. Congratulations, you guys! I am so happy for you.

I am so thankful that this family chose me to capture their memories with their second little one. Their first experience had them wanting a truly professional experience and I knew that I would be a good fit for what they were wanting, and it turned out perfectly! Their galleries are gorgeous and their products are absolutely breathtaking. I know that they will cherish these and smile every time they reminisce over their photos.
