T + S Studio Maternity Photoshoot in Calgary, AB 

"We tried for so long for our baby girl to be here, and now she is finally on her way!"

The sheer excitement! Finally. FINALLY! It was happening to them: parenthood! Their baby girl was on her way, much to this couple's excitement and all thanks to their hard work and perseverance to make it happen. 

I was honoured to be their photographer to capture this extraordinary time in their lives. I can only imagine the roller coaster of emotions it took them to get here, but I knew that I was able to step up to the plate and deliver images to the very best of my ability and nothing less. 

Mom-To-Be was absolutely stunning, and once her hair and makeup were complete, she was glowing. She is so pretty. I just loved how she looked through my lens and I couldn't stop shooting.

Of course, we couldn't forget about Dad! He was the one who booked the session, and I could tell by the sound in his voice how very excited he was. They both did wonderfully in their session and the images turned out lovely. 

A few weeks later, Dad texted me that Mom was in the hospital and the baby was on her way. He mentioned to me how nervous he was and I realized that was the first time I had a Dad express an emotion like that to me while his wife prepared to deliver their little one into the world. I was touched and honoured that he'd share even a little bit of that moment and emotion with me. I replied with some encouraging words before giving them the time to tend to Mom as they welcomed their baby girl into the world and enjoy those first moments as a new family together. 

I remember back when my husband and I welcomed our firstborn into the world. What a beautiful moment. THE most beautiful moment! I remember that neither of us spoke. Neither of us moved. We just stared at the new little human before us as she cried and took her first breaths. Everything that we thought mattered didn't matter anymore. The only thing that mattered was her. And, for that short moment, all we wanted to do was feel that moment and soak in all the emotions to remember those minutes for forever. 

The minutes turned to hours, the hours to days, the days to weeks, and the weeks to years. The years have turned into a decade, and it's hard to believe that it was 10 years ago that life-changing moment happened to us. It goes by so quickly.. but I remember it like it was yesterday.

I'm so thankful and truly honoured to have worked with this wonderful couple - just wait until you see their adorable baby girl! For now, here is the maternity gallery that had me racing to my computer as soon as I was done shooting it. It's gorgeous! *chefs kiss*
