It's been a while since I have blogged!  I've been busy with some big and exciting changes this year! Many of you who had maternity sessions and/or newborn sessions with me over the course of 2021 probably heard me commenting (or complaining - haha!) about how I felt I had outgrown my newborn photography studio. Well, the universe opened its doors and presented me and my family with an unexpected move, which I can only say is a huge blessing as it's allowed my studio space to grow into a more spacious, more efficient, more comfortable and more beautiful space for me to continue growing my newborn photography business. 

This Maternity Session was one of the last ones that I shot in my old studio. I always reminded myself to stay thankful that I had a studio in my home and was able to create beautiful portraits of families and the exciting milestones they were experiencing in their lives. It took a little extra work with changing sets during a session. A bit cumbersome, but doable.

As my business continued to grow, so did my studio. What used to be a neatly-contained workspace in a 290 sq ft bonus room in my home slowly turned into different rooms serving different purposes. All three of my kids shared a room so that I could use one of the bedrooms as a client nursery, and also use the closet to store my 50+ Maternity Gowns and overflow of props! My home that once had a studio was slowly turning into a studio that had a family living in it and it was a clear sign that Hocus Focus Photography was thriving SO much that she was outgrowing her environment!

I knew that if I wanted to be able to continue to improve my business and serve my clients, something was going to have to change. So, I put it out into the universe for a sign on what to do and shortly after (within days) we were presented with the perfect opportunity to move. It was unexpected, it was fast, and over the course of a couple of weeks my studio doubled.. no.. TRIPLED in size!
